About this Role: The Program Evaluation team leads scientific work in program evaluation, quality, and health services research. We manage internal and external evaluations-including those required by legislation or demonstration projects, as well as internally conducted evaluations. We focus on collaboration with stakeholders to ensure evaluations are meaningful and findings are shared in a timely and actionable way. Have questions and/or need assistance? This position is subject to the Department's Conflict of Interest Code and filing a Statement of Economic Interests (Form 700) when assuming office, annually while in office, and upon leaving office. This is a statewide recruitment, and the position may be located in the following locations: Sacramento, San Francisco, Richmond, Fresno, Los Angeles, Santa Ana, Rancho Cucamonga, Burbank or San Diego. Results from the Research Scientist II examination is currently in progress and will be utilized for filling this position. This advertisement is posted as until filled. Applications will be reviewed on the first and third Mondays of each month. If that day falls on a holiday, reviews will occur on the next business day. Nice To Haves

  • Experience in program evaluation and best practices in program evaluation methodology and health services research.
  • Research training and/or advanced degree in health services research or a related field preferred.
  • Experience in data-driven monitoring, creating dashboards, defining, and creating key performance indicators for programs and proactive monitoring.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and productively with data, program and clinical staff throughout an organization.
  • Demonstrated experience leading teams and making high level scientifically significant recommendations to executive leadership and interest holders in an effort to promote health equity and influence policy recommendations.
