The Materials Science and Technology Division of the Physical Sciences Directorate at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) invites applications for a research staff position in quantum information science. We seek outstanding candidates with expertise in quantum information science and condensed matter physics. Candidates that seek to build a research program focused on quantum state transduction are strongly preferred. The ideal candidate is expected to develop and lead research efforts focused on the transduction of quantum information between light, spins, and microwave circuits. The successful candidate will join the multidisciplinary Quantum Heterostructures Group dedicated to developing and characterizing novel quantum devices in collaboration with theory and experimental quantum information science efforts in research programs across the DOE Office of Science. Planned research activities will be supported with internal ORNL investments and the Department of Energy (DOE) funded Basic Energy Sciences (BES) Materials Sciences and Engineering (MSE) Program.
