About The Position

The Quality and Population Health Management (QPHM) program leads clinical quality, health equity, and population health work at DHCS. Within QPHM, the Evaluation Branch is responsible for evaluation of DHCS and Medi-Cal managed care plan efforts to improve health equity and the quality of care Medi-Cal members receive. Reporting to the Quality and Health Equity Division Chief, this Research Scientist Manager (RSM) Branch Chief leads the Evaluation Branch, consisting of two sections each led by a Section Chief: the Program Evaluation Section and the External Quality Review Organization (EQRO) Section. The RSM provides management guidance and scientific leadership in planning and directing program evaluation work and the scientific work of DHCS' EQRO, and leads the translation of program evaluation efforts and EQRO recommendations into DHCS policy change recommendations to improve health equity and the quality of care that Medi-Cal members receive.

Requirements

  • Minimum Requirements are in the Class Specification.
  • Take the Research Scientist Manager CalCareers Examination. This examination qualifies candidates for both the Social Behavior RSM and the Epi/Bio RSM.
  • Education: If you are meeting minimum qualifications with education, you must include a copy of your diploma/degree and/or unofficial/informal transcripts for verification. Official transcripts may be required upon appointment.
