About The Position

The Research Foundation for Mental Hygiene, Inc. is seeking a qualified candidate to fill a full-time position of Research Scientist IV to develop and participate in gender, sexuality, and HIV-focused research. Duties and Responsibilities: The successful candidate will: 1) Develop a self-directed research agenda and contribute to the design and execution of collaborative research projects at the HIV Center for Clinical and Behavioral Studies 2) Develop and manage research projects, especially those related to HIV prevention, treatment, and care 3) Contribute to the design and execution of collaborative research projects, particularly related to the behavioral research component of biomedical HIV prevention trials 4) Obtain funding from external sources to support research goals 5) Publish peer-reviewed scientific articles and conduct presentations at relevant scientific conferences.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and five years of professional research experience in an appropriate field or master's degree in an appropriate field may substitute for one year of experience, or Ph.D. in an appropriate field may substitute for an additional year of experience.
  • Minimum of 2-4 years of relevant experience in Health/Social Sciences required
  • Minimum of 2-4 years' experience in research related to economic-empowerment interventions to improve the health and well-being of sexual and gender minorities

Nice To Haves

  • 2- 4 years' experience conducting research with LGBT populations.
  • 1 - 2 years' experience in qualitative research skill
  • 1 - 2 years' experience managing research projects, related to HIV

Responsibilities
