The position is for a scientist within the Applied Sciences for Therapeutic Oligonucleotides team at Integrated DNA Technologies (IDT). The role involves executing projects related to CRISPR-based editing systems and therapeutic oligonucleotides, providing scientific support, and ensuring the successful transfer of methods from research and development to the Gen Meds Services team. The position requires a strong background in gene editing and biochemistry, with a focus on project organization and data analysis.

  • Function as a scientist at the bench, executing projects related to off-target safety assessment for CRISPR-based editing systems and custom projects associated with IDT's Therapeutic Oligonucleotides business.
  • Provide teamwide scientific support on all aspects of therapeutic oligonucleotides projects, including lab work, project tracking, data collection, analysis, report generation, and presentation.
  • Plan and maintain detailed experimental records to facilitate technology transfer of methods from R&D to the Gen Meds Services team.
  • Gain expertise in technologies to support feasibility, development, and validation of assays, proposing ideas for broader use and application.
  • Lend subject matter expertise to customer-specific oligo assessments of quality, performance, and safety in various assays, assisting in defining technical and experimental work plans.
  • Bachelor's degree in Biology, Genetics, Chemistry, or a related life sciences field with three or more years of relevant lab experience, or a Master's degree with one or more years of relevant lab experience.
  • Demonstrated experience and technical background in CRISPR and Gene Editing rooted in research, development, or applications.
  • Demonstrated expertise in basic techniques in biochemistry, cell biology, genomics, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated competency in cell culture techniques and management of good laboratory practices in a tissue culture lab.
  • Demonstrated abilities in project organization, critical thinking, and teamwork applied to experimental planning, data analysis, and presentations.
  • Previous experience in delivering results in a regulated space (GLP, ICH, cGMP, etc.).
  • Experience in next-generation sequencing technology development and/or application.
  • Bioinformatics experience related to genome editing assessment or working with bioinformatics experts towards NGS-based assessment of genome editing events.
  • Experience operating under design control and design assurance in product development.
  • Experience in custom genomics product development, verification, or validation.
