About The Position

The Applied Molecular Biology Division in the Research Department at New England Biolabs invites applications for a Research Scientist position focused on studying new enzymes and technologies for isothermal amplification. This position offers exciting opportunities for fast-paced applied research in a modern biotechnology environment and collaboration with internal cross-disciplinary teams. Requirements

  • Ph.D. in molecular biology, biochemistry, or related discipline
  • 1-3 years postdoctoral experience; either academic or industry
  • Experience with protein biochemistry and molecular biology methods
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Comfort working collaboratively with various cross-functional teams and groups

  • Proven track record of technology and method development
  • Experience in an industrial biotechnology environment
  • Publication of original scientific work in peer-reviewed journals

Responsibilities

  • Identify and explore enzymatic activities suitable for isothermal amplification
  • Create novel methods and associated technologies for amplification and detection workflows
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to understand and develop applications for isothermal amplification
