About The Position

You will work with a team of scientists and engineers dedicated to advancing objective auditory measures research in cochlear implant technology. You will help drive the research development towards clinical applications of using cochlear implants as sensors of physiological signals. You will develop and validate objective measurement tools for cochlear implant systems to assess implant function, auditory pathway integrity, and improve patient outcomes. This role bridges auditory neuroscience, engineering, and clinical research to translate physiological signals into clinically and commercially meaningful diagnostics.

Requirements

  • University degree in engineering, biomedical science, hearing science, audiology, or related field; Master’s or PhD preferred.
  • At least 3 years of industry or research experience involving physiological signal applications, with bonus experience in Class III medical devices.
  • Hands‑on, analytical, and detail‑oriented approach with strong experimental and problem‑solving skills; able to drive initiatives independently amid ambiguity.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset, adapting communication style to diverse audiences and team environments.
  • Solid foundation in experimental design, data analysis, translational research, and software/firmware development for physiological measurement systems.
  • Familiarity with data acquisition systems, amplifiers, clinical or preclinical study workflows, and demonstrated ability to produce high‑quality technical writing and publications.
  • Proficiency with Windows, Microsoft Office, MATLAB, Python, embedded systems, C/C++, and AI‑assisted coding tools; advanced English fluency.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and validate objective CI diagnostic algorithms (e.g., impedances, evoked compound action potentials, eABRs, evoked cortical potentials, etc).
  • Build robust, well-documented software measurement tools and analysis frameworks (research-grade to translational prototypes) using various environment from embedded level to application layer
  • Collaborate closely with systems, firmware, clinical, and product teams to align algorithms with hardware and system constraints.
  • Prepare and coordinate pre-clinical research and studies across multiple centers/locations/time-zones.
  • Support pre-clinical and clinical research studies by defining research protocol, analysis plans, validating endpoints, and ensuring reproducibility of results.
  • Contribute to data analysis, interpretation and reporting.
  • Prepare technical reports, protocols, and presentation; contribute to publications, internal knowledge sharing, and intellectual property.
