The Bond Life Sciences Center at the University of Missouri is seeking a highly motivated Research Scientist to join Dr. Paul de Figueiredo's lab. This role focuses on utilizing microbes to develop safe and effective therapies for cancer and autoimmune diseases. The successful candidate will engage in interdisciplinary research, applying advanced techniques in molecular biology and microbiology to explore host-pathogen interactions and contribute to innovative therapeutic solutions.

  • Apply state-of-the-art molecular, immunological, cell biological, microbiological, and scRNA-seq techniques to research.
  • Work independently on interdisciplinary and collaborative projects.
  • Mentor trainees including undergraduates, graduate students, and postdocs.
  • Follow University and lab safety and compliance guidelines.
  • Manage collaborative interactions with scientists at MU and other institutions.
  • A Bachelor's degree in a related area and at least 3 years of relevant experience.
  • A recent PhD or MD with an excellent track record of peer-reviewed publications.
