The Laboratory of Inorganic and Nuclear Chemistry (LINC) Environmental Trace Elements Section is a fully accredited laboratory responsible for analyzing environmental, food, and cannabis product samples for various inorganic contaminants including toxic metals, arsenic species, and lead in paint, soil, and dust wipes. A Research Scientist 3 is needed to provide technical and scientific support for the complex instrumentation used in the essential analyses which include inorganic mass spectrometry, X-ray fluorescence spectrometry, atomic emission spectrometry, and microwave-assisted sample preparation. The incumbent will also supervise section staff and manage the research and development of new methods utilizing latest technologies.
