The School of Nursing at Emory University is seeking a Research Project Manager to join the Wharton Lab, under the leadership of Principal Investigator Whitney Wharton. This position is pivotal in overseeing research study staff and managing study operations for various observational and clinical trials that focus on Alzheimer's disease prevention and the impact of midlife vascular risk factors in cognitively normal populations. The target groups for these studies include individuals with a parental history of Alzheimer's disease, African Americans, family caregivers, women, and members of the LGBTQ+ community. The Research Project Manager will be responsible for ensuring effective team coordination and communication across multiple study sites, as well as overseeing the scheduling and work of students and team leads. Additionally, the role involves managing dedicated clinic and laboratory spaces, including study freezers, and ensuring regulatory compliance across multiple studies. In this role, the Research Project Manager will utilize advanced knowledge of research methodologies to assist in the planning and development of survey instruments, guidelines, and procedures necessary for data collection. Responsibilities include coordinating various aspects of the studies, drafting and editing study texts, analyzing data, identifying discrepancies, and conducting statistical analyses. The manager will actively contribute to the development of research protocols, ensuring that study data is accurately documented and maintained. They will also be responsible for generating reports to assess study performance and treatment results, and may oversee regulatory compliance efforts. The position may involve developing and submitting grant proposals, monitoring expenses, and coordinating special meetings and presentations. Collaboration on reports and papers, as well as assisting in the preparation of tables and graphs for publication, are also key components of this role.
