CAMBA is a community of staff, volunteers, clients, donors, neighbors and partners who work together to build an inclusive New York City, where all children and adults have access to the resources and supports, they need to thrive. We take a comprehensive approach by offering more than 180 integrated programs in: Education & Youth Development, Family Support, Job Training & Employment Support Services, Health, Housing, and Legal Services. We reach almost 80,000 individuals and families, including almost 13,000 youth. CAMBA serves a diverse cross section of New Yorkers from new mothers in Brownsville to job seekers in the Rockaways. More than half of our clients are immigrants and refugees from around the globe. Over 85% of our families are living in poverty, reflecting the challenges faced by nearly 1.7 million New Yorkers today. Program Overview CAMBA subcontracts with Columbia University on the research project P3: “Estimating the Impact of a Multilevel, Multicomponent Intervention to Increase Uptake of HIV Testing and Biomedical HIV Prevention among African American/Black Gay, Bisexual, and Same-gender Loving Men.” CAMBA oversees recruitment for the study and provides substance misuse and HIV/hepatitis prevention navigation, including navigation to PrEP, for study participants. A Recruitment Coordinator who identifies with the community of focus conducts in-person and online outreach to their peers through dating apps/hook up sites. The Recruitment Coordinator will be responsible for recruitment and delivery of peer navigation to PrEP of P3 study participants. Position: Research Project Recruitment Coordinator Reports To: Supervisor II Location: 1259 Flatbush Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11226 What The Research Project Recruitment Coordinator Does: The incumbent will: oversee recruitment of study participants through both online and in-person outreach; conduct risk screening for substance misuse and sexual health; provide navigation to link clients to PrEP and other appropriate services; and assist clients in attaining their goals by locating community resources and making appropriate social service referrals both within and outside CAMBA. This work is carried out in support of the goals and mission of CAMBA.
