The Project Manager for the Carolina Breast Cancer Family of Studies will oversee the development, implementation, and management of research projects from start to finish, with a focus on Carolina Breast Cancer Study Phase 4 and the Integrated Network for Screening, Imaging, Genomics, Histology, and Treatment Outcomes (INSIGHT). Reporting directly to the Research Project Director, the Project Manager will coordinate all aspects of large epidemiological studies of breast cancer and related studies in North Carolina. The Carolina Breast Cancer Study investigates how biological, behavioral, and social factors influence breast cancer risk and outcomes. In Phase 4, this includes behavioral interventions designed to improve patient communication, engagement, and self-advocacy, alongside studies of tumor biology, genetics, and social determinants, to better understand and reduce disparities in incidence, progression, and survivorship. This position involves collaboration with investigators across multiple departments, centers, and schools at UNC and beyond. Strong interpersonal skills and experience working with diverse or vulnerable populations are essential. The role requires substantial capacity to independently manage research activities and staff across multiple projects.
