About The Position

The Research Project Manager and Lead Interventionist at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill will oversee an 18-month externally funded study focused on developing and evaluating a Food is Medicine intervention for adults with type 2 diabetes and food insecurity. This role involves coordinating research activities, managing project budgets, and ensuring effective communication within the research team and with participants. Requirements

• Relevant post-Baccalaureate degree or equivalent experience; Bachelor's degree with 3+ years of relevant experience may be accepted.
• Registered Dietitian (RD) certification required.
• Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) certification required.
• Experience as a research project manager or coordinator.
• Strong organizational and leadership skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in human subjects research.
• Knowledge of type 2 diabetes care and management.
• Familiarity with EPIC and REDCap systems.
• Experience in routine healthcare settings.
• Previous personnel management experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee research activities for the Food is Medicine intervention study.
• Manage project budgets and ensure financial accountability.
• Facilitate project meetings and decision-making processes.
• Recruit and retain human research subjects for the study.
• Collaborate closely with Dr. Anna Kahkoska and the research team.
• Ensure alignment of research team and participant experiences with program outcomes.
