About The Position

The Research Project Director will lead the historical research efforts for the Valley Transportation Authority’s Across Barriers Connection project under the IMS partnership. This role includes designing the research approach, identifying and analyzing data, developing narrative summaries and story maps, participating in regular partner meetings, and conducting outreach with affected community members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience conducting interviews
  • Experience with archival research
  • Experience with Story mapping
  • Experience using arcGIS
  • Ability to use a computer
  • A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the SJSURF.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Historical Research Project Conduct survey of archival documents Analyze primary sources Synthesize into a variety of materials
  • Support with Community Engagement Conduct interviews with impacted residents Attend VTA’s community engagement sessions Synthesize findings from interviews
  • Liaise with VTA partners Attend regular meetings and provide updates Present at coalition meeting on latest findings
