The Research Project Coordinator PT supports the overall development of research project(s) on a part-time basis. Assists with project design, management, and implementation. Promotes the project and serves as liaison between the project and contacts internal and external to the University. May supervise students, provide general office assistance, create promotional materials, and assist in the development of other potential projects. The Global Land Programme (GLP) (www.glp.earth) is seeking candidates to join the Global Land Programme’s US Nodal Office (GLP-USNO) at the University of Alabama to provide support on this project. This position supports the Nodal Office Director to plan and execute the GLP-USNO’s cross-cutting goals in the area of agrifood systems transformation, as well as planning logistics of GLP-USNO programs and events. Ensures smooth day-to-day operations. Manages the daily and longer-term schedule and coordinate with the GLP’s International Program Office (IPO), based at the University of Maryland, College Park, GLP working groups, and regional GLP-USNO affiliates. Works with the Director and GLP-USNO affiliates to conduct agrifood systems research broadly. Provides communication and coordination support for a network of regional producers, food value chain actors, and other food system stakeholders engaged in collaborative, in-person meetings and field trials of innovative AgTech innovations. Supports the development of external funding proposals, curates and contributes to education materials, and organizes regional scientific workshops.
