The Research Program Manager will oversee the daily operations of the College of Nursing Research Support Office at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS). This role involves managing research staff, coordinating grant submissions, and liaising with various stakeholders to enhance research initiatives. The position is pivotal in providing support for both pre-award and post-award grant management, ensuring compliance with NIH requirements, and facilitating the development of research programs within the College of Nursing.

  • Manage daily operations of the College of Nursing Research Support Office.
  • Supervise research staff and manage research projects.
  • Liaise with partners and colleagues across CON, UAMS, and external collaborators.
  • Provide pre-award grants submission and post-award grants management support.
  • Review grant application guidance and develop comprehensive checklists and timelines for submissions.
  • Assist with editing and formatting supporting documents for grants.
  • Collaborate with the CON Business Office for budget management.
  • Manage internal progress reporting and maintain grants tracking.
  • Coordinate support for the CON PhD program under the direction of the PhD Program Director.
  • Manage the ADR research budget and coordinate research business processes.
  • Bachelor's degree in social or behavioral sciences or related field.
  • Five years of administrative research experience required.
  • UAMS Certified Research Specialist (must obtain within 1 year of employment).
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of NIH requirements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.
  • Experience in managing research budgets.
  • Familiarity with grant writing and submission processes.
  • Previous experience in a healthcare or academic setting.
