About The Position

The Research Program Coordinator at the University of Pittsburgh's Center for LGBT Health Research is responsible for providing essential support across various research activities. This role combines program management, resource development, and administrative oversight to enhance the Center's impact. The Coordinator will ensure that research activities align with institutional goals and policies, playing a crucial role in advancing the Center's mission by facilitating smooth operations and achieving meaningful outcomes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in program management, research coordination, or administrative support, preferably in an academic or nonprofit setting.
  • Experience in resource development, donor relations, or grant management.
  • Strong familiarity with institutional policies and compliance requirements in research environments.
  • Proficiency in budgeting and financial oversight, managing multiple budgets effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop or improve business processes for administrative efficiency.

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ years of experience in program management or research coordination.
  • Experience supporting and guiding staff in daily tasks and responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and ensure effective completion of research projects.
  • Oversee complex and concurrent projects and supervise the team.
  • Coordinate research operations, answer inquiries, and prepare research reports and materials.
  • Design and implement organizational systems and quality control procedures for optimal resource utilization.
  • Implement communication plans, obtain regulatory approvals, and ensure adherence to regulations and policies.
  • Coordinate and schedule large meetings, events, and logistics for speakers and collaborators.
  • Organize in-person and virtual community meetings and engagement events.
  • Manage Center programs and special projects, including pilot studies and training programs.
  • Assist faculty with research administration and oversee budgets for core faculty projects.
  • Collaborate with leadership to develop effective business processes and protocols for administrative efficiency.
  • Partner with communications teams to maintain the Center's online presence and launch a monthly newsletter.
