About The Position

This position is for the full academic year. THIS POSITION IS FOR UPPERCLASSMEN ONLY. FRESHMEN ARE NOT ELIGIBLE TO APPLY FOR DEPARTMENT POSITIONS. Expected hours of work per week : 5-10 Expected location and times where work will be performed : Brock Hall 223 / 8-4:30 Qualifications for Position: Sophomore, Junior, or Senior standing International Studies or Political Science major 3.0 GPA Adequate knowledge of research methods Ability to work independently Strong personal integrity and work ethic Interest in a research-related career preferred Strong language skills preferred Expected Duties and Responsibilities: General course assistance across POL & INS courses Research assistance for professors Departmental administrative/clerical tasks Organization of events for POL & INS majors & minors Tutoring as needed Resume skills development (NACE Competencies required by employers) to be developed Career & Self-Development including...Showing initiative. Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word to impart oral information to clients or to the public and to convey detailed spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly

Requirements

  • Sophomore, Junior, or Senior standing
  • International Studies or Political Science major
  • 3.0 GPA
  • Adequate knowledge of research methods
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong personal integrity and work ethic
