The laboratory studies musculoskeletal biology and tissue regeneration, focusing on skeletal and muscle stem/progenitor cells (SSCs and MuSCs). Projects aim to develop methods for tissue regeneration, differentiation, aging, and study responses to nutrients and supplemental peptides. Projects study skeletal stem cells with the eventual goal of high-level cell therapy design. Candidate will be experienced with flow cytometry, and basic cell biology/cell culture methods. We use time-lapse imaging, molecular assays, and cell-based analyses to explore population heterogeneity and lineage analysis, in the presence of oxidative stress and factors to mitigate that stress. The researcher will assist and/or lead ongoing projects involving molecular biology, spatial transcriptomics, and flow cytometry, contributing to experimental design, data collection, and analysis.
