You will facilitate, implement, and fulfill research goals through testing, investigating, and evaluating a mix of medical and biomedical effects of trauma, wounds, injuries, and disease of the warfighter. You will serve as a Principal Investigator on various projects within the department participating in all phases of the complete research process, including problem definition, planning, execution, analysis, etc. You will ensure all research is conducted in accordance with regulatory requirements and established research protocols for both human and laboratory animal research. You will work with a diverse scientific workforce consisting of research biologists, microbiologists, cellular and structural biologists, biomedical and electrical engineers, immunologists, physiologists, etc. You will provide briefings to individuals representing various levels of expertise. You will take responsibility for data collection, interpretation and manuscript preparation/revision for team/project members' research. You will be responsible for developing and preparing research proposals for submission to the supervisor for the purpose of securing research funding. As a subject matter expert, you may travel to the field and resource sponsor activities to brief on progress of pertinent areas of current research or to brief on new research proposals.
