About The Position

The Research Patient Care Coordinator plays a crucial role in supporting clinical research projects by coordinating various tasks from pre-study implementation to study closure. This position involves both clinical and administrative responsibilities, including patient care, data management, and regulatory compliance, all aimed at ensuring the successful execution of research studies in accordance with established guidelines.

Requirements

• Experience in clinical research coordination or a related field.
• Knowledge of FDA, OHRP, and GCP guidelines.
• Ability to perform clinical tasks such as blood draws and EKGs after demonstrated competency.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for maintaining regulatory documentation.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with study participants and team members.

Nice To Haves

• Certification in clinical research coordination or a related field.
• Experience with pediatric patient populations.
• Familiarity with electronic data capture systems.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate a variety of research projects from pre-study implementation through study closure.
• Acquire specimens and manage patient data extraction and entry.
• Maintain complete and accurate subject data and regulatory documentation.
• Provide clinical care within the designated scope of practice for research subjects, including obtaining vital signs and performing blood draws.
• Assist with recruiting, interviewing, and scheduling study participants.
• Process IRB and other regulatory documents in compliance with federal and state regulations.
• Explain study purpose and requirements to participants in collaboration with the principal investigator.
• Track and report adverse events per sponsor and institutional guidelines.
• Coordinate subject informed consent and verify eligibility based on inclusion/exclusion criteria.
• Maintain inventory levels of supplies and equipment, initiating requisitions as necessary.
