The Clinical Research Nurse on the Multidisciplinary team assists in the conduct of clinical trials in a variety of therapeutic areas including neurology, cardiology, cardiothoracic surgery among others. A clinical nurse provides patient care. A research nurse cares for their patient, but follows a research protocol using very specific timelines, assessments and evaluations A clinical nurse provides patient care while a research nurse cares for their patient, but follows a research protocol using very specific timelines, assessments and evaluations Each day is different, but a typical day will include collaborating with coworkers and off-site project team members, extracting data from multiple sources, providing education to and communicating with nursing and medical staff as well as ancillary teams with a dash of research directed patient care mixed in.
