About The Position

The Research Laboratory Technician provides supervisory functions relating to the Quality Assurance and Regulatory activities of the Clinical Safety Laboratory as well as the operational oversight of the Clinical Safety & Cell Isolation Laboratory functions including but not limited to, sample analysis, documentation and record keeping as well as equipment maintenance and identifying potential safety hazards. This Research Laboratory Technician position is part of the Clinical Diagnostics & Central Laboratory Department which encompasses both the Clinical Safety Laboratory as well as the Cell Isolation and Cryopreservation Laboratory.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree or higher in a field related to health science preferred.
  • Leadership Requirements Exhibits sound and accurate judgment and logical reasoning.

  • Knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, Outlook
  • 2 years’ experience in clinical research or equivalent by experience and training preferred.
  • 1+ years of Quality Assurance or Regulatory work experience preferred.
  • Possess a basic understanding of the drug development process, clinical trial management, clinical monitoring, FDA regulations, and ICH Guidelines

Responsibilities

  • Performs tests authorized by the Laboratory Operations Director commensurate with the individual's training, experience, and technical abilities.
  • Performs multiple methods of cell isolation, stains, cell counts.
  • Performs cryopreservation of isolated cells.
  • Receives and prepares clinical lab specimens and accession them into LIMS.
  • Performs clinical tests on biological samples according to established protocols in compliance with CAP/CLIA guidelines.
  • Performs all tasks associated with lab testing including but not limited to restocking supplies, inventory/ordering, filing results, etc.
  • Maintains detailed and organized records of all laboratory procedures and results.
  • Compliant with regulatory standards and company policies.
  • Documents any deviations from established protocols and communicate them to the appropriate personnel.
  • Responsible for verifying proper calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment prior to use.
  • Collaborates with the laboratory management to identify and address equipment issues promptly.
  • Adheres to strict quality control measures to maintain data integrity.
  • Participates in quality assurance activities, e.g., proficiency testing.
  • Contributes to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the overall efficiency/accuracy of lab operations.
  • Works closely with fellow laboratory technicians, scientists, clinical team, and study/project managers to ensure seamless workflow.
  • Communicates effectively with other departments to provide updates on sample processing and results.
  • Adheres to all safety guidelines and protocols to create a clean, safe, and secure working environment.
  • Proactively identifies and reports any potential safety hazards.
