The Research Technician I will assist with all aspects of our cognitive neuroscience and psycholinguistic research. Our lab investigates where and when the brain is activated during language processing. For more information about our work, see: https://kuperberglab.com/ Job Summary The responsibilities of this position are varied and involve coordination of multiple aspects of research projects, including collecting and analyzing neuroimaging data (MEG, ERP), statistical analysis, and maintaining the day-to-day operations of the lab. In addition to intellectual reward, the position will include support in cognitive neuroscience, experimental psychology, psycholinguistics, clinical applications, and database and program management. Our lab has sites at both Tufts University (Medford, MA) and the Martinos Center for Biomedical Imaging (Charlestown, MA). Qualifications Work with individuals from a multidisciplinary team to collect fMRI, ERP and MEG data in healthy adult volunteers and to work on pre-processing and analysis of large language data sets using computational modeling. Set up, prepare, and run routine neuroimaging and behavioral experiments as directed. This includes: -Interaction with human participants -Preparing and maintaining lab instruments and equipment -Documenting experimental procedures and following them -Management and organization of experimental data on research servers Work well with others to preprocess and analyze neuroimaging data and trouble-shooting any computer code relating to data presentation and analysis. Specifically: -Carry out analyses of event-related potential (ERP) and/or magnetoencephalography (MEG) data, under the guidance of the Principal Investigator, postdocs, and graduate students in the lab. -Use bash scripting, python, and Matlab to process large data sets, and be able to modify this code as needed for different types of analyses -Run statistical analyses on neuroimaging data sets using software such as MNEpython, EEG/ERPLab, and R -Create visualizations of neuroimaging data -Clean and input data into Large Language Models May perform independent literature searches. Maintain laboratory documentation on the lab wiki and perform other lab administrative tasks, e.g. organizing lab meetings, documenting changes and updates to data processing streams, purchasing lab supplies, maintaining IRB protocols Assist with organizing materials for publication or presentation. This will include: -Creation of data tables, graphs, diagrams, brain images -Managing reference software and generating bibliographies -Creating Powerpoint presentations and posters Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
