Our laboratory studies the immune basis for multiple lung diseases including asthma, COPD, acute respiratory distress syndrome, and pulmonary fibrosis. We are a multi-disciplinary research team that conducts several projects involving both translational human studies and mouse models of disease. The individual hired for this position will have some experience with basic cell biology and immunology techniques (e.g., flow cytometry) and a high degree of computer literacy and organizational skills. This person will also perform mouse studies including disease modeling, surgery/procedures, husbandry, and cell culture. They may also be asked to assist with translational human studies using a variety of molecular and cellular techniques including, but not limited to: flow cytometry, single-cell sorting, DNA and RNA extraction, PCR and real-time PCR analysis, cell isolation and culture, protein assays, and immunohistochemistry. Job Summary Summary Responsible for maintaining laboratory equipment, organizing and preparing samples, conducting experiments, and recording and analyzing data. Candidates who are in the process of completing their bachelor's degree have a grace period of six months from their hire date (up to 1 year if starting per diem) to provide degree equivalency verification.
