About The Position

The Research Lab Assistant in the Department of Genetics & Biochemistry at Clemson University will support microbiological research focused on polymicrobial biofilms and interkingdom interactions. Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent and work experience in a clinical or research laboratory setting.
• A bachelor's degree in a related scientific discipline may substitute for the required work experience.

Nice To Haves

• Master's Degree in Biology, Microbiology or related fields
• 1+ years in a microbiology laboratory

Responsibilities

• Document data, calibrate equipment, and adhere to operating procedures to ensure quality control in the research lab.
• Collaborate with a PhD student to prepare and organize molecular biology datasets, including cleaning and normalizing data for analysis.
• Perform routine culturing, maintenance, and storage of bacterial and fungal strains, and conduct microbiological assays.
