As a diverse and dynamic group, our ATG researchers work on cutting-edge projects related to computer science and electrical engineering for audio, video, and cloud technologies, exploring exciting domains such as AI/ML, algorithms, digital signal processing, audio processing, image processing, computer vision, AR/VR, data science & analytics, distributed systems, cloud, edge & mobile computing, computer networking, and IoT.

Requirements

  • PhD student in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Graphics, or related field.
  • Proven ability to conduct research and demonstrate results through projects, prototypes, patent filings, and papers in peer reviewed journals and conferences.
  • Experience as a researcher, including internships, full-time positions, or at a lab.
  • Proficiency in Python and PyTorch.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Creating demos and prototypes for research applications.
  • Developing innovative solutions for volumetric representations.
  • Proficiency with 3D graphics frameworks or engines (e.g. Unity, Unreal Engine).
  • Writing technical reports and/or publications.
  • First-author publications at peer-reviewed conferences or journals.

Responsibilities

  • Work on cutting-edge and impactful topics in the field of volumetric representation.
  • Address industry-relevant, real-world volumetric representation problems aimed at creating advanced consumer experience in multimedia entertainment.
  • Collaborate with Dolby's leading media technology experts.

Benefits

  • Hourly pay of $57/hr for the San Francisco/Bay Area, with variations based on location.
  • Opportunity to work full-time for 12 weeks between September 2025 - December 2025.
