About the position

The Research Intern in Machine Learning (PhD) role focuses on developing AI systems for biological reasoning and systems biology. Interns will work closely with the research team to create novel machine learning approaches for analyzing biological data, design experiments, and present findings. This position offers flexible hours and the potential for full-time employment after completing a PhD.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development of novel machine learning approaches for biological data analysis and interpretation.
  • Design and implement experiments to evaluate and improve AI models using large-scale biological datasets.
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to tackle complex challenges in molecular biology and drug discovery.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a PhD in Machine Learning, Computer Science, Computational Biology, or a related field.
  • Strong background in deep learning, with experience in frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
  • Proven track record of research, demonstrated by publications at conferences such as NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, or relevant computational biology venues.
  • Proficient in Python with experience in large-scale data processing and analysis.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently on complex research problems.
  • Passionate about applying AI to solve real-world challenges in biology and medicine.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively present technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, startup environment.
