Research Health Science Specialist
About The Position
This position serves as Without Compensation Research Health Science Specialist within the Office of Research and Development (ORD). The VA Research Program strives to promote Veteran-centered care to improve patient experiences and outcomes across VA healthcare and community settings, and to advance value-driven care by providing Veterans the highest quality care at the lowest financial burden. Responsibilities
- Communicate effectively about scientific concepts with both patients and clinicians
- Demonstrate outstanding interpersonal and organizational skills in daily tasks
- Maintain careful attention to detail across clinical and research activities
- Support clinical and/or laboratory research, including regulatory approvals
- Utilize electronic medical record systems (e.g., EPIC) for data management
- Collect, enter, and manage medical data in REDCap and other databases
- Process biological samples following established protocols
- Multi-task and adapt in a fast-paced research environment
