The Department of Mechanical Engineering is seeking a highly qualified graduate assistant (GA) in the broad areas of thermal-fluid sciences or solid mechanics for AY2025-26. The student will be assigned a faculty advisor and may be assigned one or more projects over the duration of the academic year. The student will have the opportunity to prepare documentation and give oral presentations that specifically highlight new knowledge gained over the course of the position. Career Readiness Learning Objectives: Critical Thinking – Over the duration of the academic year, the student will progressively develop enhanced critical thinking skills. The student will work closely with the faculty member to identify and develop these necessary skills. Career and Self Development – Over the duration of the academic year, the student will develop, implement, and perform tasks of increasing complexity under the guidance of the faculty member. This will include, but is not limited to, undertaking new areas of research, planning and conducting experiments, and effectively interacting with fellow students. Communications – The GA will be expected to present the finding for their work at Celebrate Gannon in Spring 2026.
