About The Position

The Research Field Technician is responsible for conducting field farming research activities, analysis of field data, and preparation of summary reports. Feeds and cares for livestock. Collects samples for analysis. Measures and sorts cattle into experimental units. Assist with cow and heifer calving. Work with stocker cattle and research data. Performs fence, equipment, and building maintenance. Collects and maintains farm equipment and vehicles and performs routine scheduled maintenance. Collects data. Reports results to supervisor. Keeps records of test animals and reports problems to supervisor. Insures best practices are implemented. Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others. Other duties as assigned by supervisor and/or director of SWREC. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency policy.

Requirements

  • The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma, plus two years of experience in farming operations.
  • Must possess a valid Arkansas driver's license if travel is required.
