About The Position
The Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) is offering a two-year research fellowship position in the Conservation Research laboratory, reporting to the Head Scientist. This position is part of the 'Carbon Reduction for Art in Transit (CRAIT)' project, funded by IMLS, which aims to research and test alternative and more sustainable packaging materials for art shipping. The goal is to replace non-recyclable, non-environmentally friendly materials and reduce the carbon footprints of art crates. The fellowship provides a unique opportunity to work collaboratively across the organization, contributing to significant challenges in the cultural heritage field.
