About The Position

The Steadman Philippon Research Institute is known throughout the world for our research into the causes, prevention, and treatment of orthopaedic disorders. We are committed to solving orthopaedic problems that limit an individual's ability to maintain an active life. SPRI offers a Research Fellow position to advance its research mission and to provide a unique opportunity for research participation to future clinicians, scientists, and engineers. Research Fellows support Steadman Philippon Research Institutes staff in research tasks for the Center for Outcomes-Based Orthopaedic Research (COOR).

Requirements

Current medical student seeking a research gap year.
Strong customer service interaction and interpersonal skills.
Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
Ability to maintain effective working relationships with employees and physicians.
Well-developed administrative skills with a pro-active approach to organizing tasks.
Participative approach to work.

Responsibilities

Preparing and conducting experimental lab procedures.
Conducting literature reviews.
Compiling research data, preparing presentations.
Writing manuscripts for journal publication.
Book chapters.
Case reports and surgical technique papers.
Co-authorship is attainable for research assistants according to the same policy that applies to all SPRI researchers (ICMJE guidelines).
Maintain personal commitment to the Steadman Philippon Research Institutes Foundation’s mission and values.
Maintain confidentiality of acquired information.
Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
