The Department of Cardiovascular Medicine (Dr. Chadi Ayoub Chadi Ayoub, M.B.B.S., Ph.D. [https://www.mayoclinic.org/biographies/ayoub-chadi-m-b-b-s-ph-d/bio-20522873]) has a research fellowship position available in the area of cardiology research. Our work focuses on investigating the complex interplay between cardiovascular disease and its clinical implications for patients. With a strong emphasis on cardiology imaging, the research integrates advanced echocardiographic techniques and other cardiac imaging modalities. A central component of this work involves curating high-quality datasets for the development and application of novel artificial intelligence models. Mayo Clinic is uniquely positioned to evaluate cardiovascular structure and function through state-of-the-art imaging technologies and comprehensive clinical data resources. The selected candidate will be trained to work independently and will be expected to review and analyze cardiology clinical data and imaging studies, as applicable; collect, curate, and process data; provide mentorship to other members of the research group; and contribute to the preparation of manuscripts for peer-reviewed scientific journals. This position also offers robust career development opportunities, including participation in national and international conferences and the pursuit of grant and fellowship funding. A Research Fellow position in Life Sciences (LS) will require knowledge of either clinical-based research or laboratory-based research often obtained from a postdoctoral program. A Research Fellow at Mayo Clinic is a temporary position intended to provide training and education in research. Individuals will train in the research program of a Mayo Clinic principal investigator. Qualified individuals will demonstrate the potential for research as evidenced by their training and peer-reviewed publications and should become competitive for national research grants. Upon background check and CCATS Executive Committee approval, Research Fellow may have patient/research subject contact directly relating to and incidental to the original research program. Proof of English proficiency is required for J-1 Short-Term Scholars, Research Scholars, Professors, Specialists, and Student Interns sponsored by Mayo Clinic.
