About The Position

Part-time Research Faculty Non-Exempt in the Department of Mining Engineering, and the Kroll Institute for Extractive Metallurgy (KIEM) research group. Working with Critical Materials Innovation Hub (CMI) and other research organizations within Colorado School of Mines involves conceiving research targets, preparing proposal concepts, managing and mentoring graduate students, preparing quarterly reports, and meeting research milestones. This is a part-time, fixed term position through June 30, 2026 at approximately 53% FTE. Total 5-month salary available will be approximately $37,080. Requirements

  • senior-level experience in mineral processing and extractive metallurgical engineering
  • academic degree in the same or a similar field
  • Experience in fundamental and applied research with additional operational experience with metal mining companies and equipment manufacturers
  • Leadership as a Principal Investigator (PI) and Co-PI to work on multiple research projects, including CMI
