About The Position

The University of Arkansas Fayetteville is seeking a Research Facilitator to join the Research Infrastructure & Technologies team. This position will provide direct and meaningful support to the research community. Based on the candidate’s experience and areas of interest this position will also incorporate two of the Campus Research Computing Consortium (CaRCC) research facilitation facings. - Researcher-facing includes outreach and advanced support, research lifecycle management, actively participate in research support communities across campus. This facing aligns with user support specialist and consultation / training coordinator. - Data-facing includes data creation; data discovery and collection; data analysis and visualization; research data curation, storage, backup, preservation, and transfer. This facing aligns with data scientist, data management analyst, and statistician. - Software-facing includes software package management, research software optimization or troubleshooting, workflow engineering, containers and cloud computing, and securing access to software. This facing aligns with application specialist and software engineer. - Systems-facing includes infrastructure systems, systems operations, and systems security. This facing aligns with system engineer, network engineer, and storage engineer. - Regulatory and Policy-facing includes institutional alignment, regulatory compliance, project security, coordination with institutional stakeholders. This facing aligns with governance risk compliance specialist and research compliance coordinator. This onsite position is in Fayetteville, Arkansas with the potential for hybrid or flex schedule. Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education
  • Experience working in a research environment and/or research supporting role
  • Ability to understand complex problems and implement solutions
  • Ability to establish strong working relationships
  • Commitment to professional development and continued learning

Nice To Haves

  • At least five years of experience working with data creation, software package management, infrastructure systems, systems operations, systems security
  • Experience with multiple Campus Research Computing Consortium (CaRCC) functional areas, including: Researcher-facing, Data-facing, Software-facing, Systems-facing, Strategy -and Policy-facing
