About The Position

This position will end effective one year from start date. Subsequent annual renewal of employment will be based upon performance review, progress towards research goals, and continuation of funding. The purpose of this role is to carry out research into biochemistry, synthetic biology, and protein and RNA engineering.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in biochemistry, molecular biology, or a related discipline with two years of relevant experience. Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

  • Previous experience with cloning, mutagenesis, and protein expression.

Responsibilities

  • Administration and project management of funded research programs. Schedule meetings, organize data, and prepare reports or other communications for the PI.
  • Collaborate with postdoctoral fellows and graduate students on various projects. Train graduate students in NGS experimental protocols and analysis.
  • Conduct general laboratory duties, including the ordering of supplies, tracking inventory, and overseeing the maintenance of basic laboratory equipment.
  • Spearhead, perform, and troubleshoot human antibody research tasks, including the preparation, processing and bioinformatic analysis of B-cell DNA libraries using NGS.
