About The Position

This position is for a full-time researcher with training in biochemistry who will be responsible for developing cutting-edge scientific research projects in the area of antibacterial effectors and Salmonella pathogenesis.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • A strong background in biochemistry and microbiology.
  • Knowledge of molecular biology and protein chemistry.
  • Experience with statistical data analysis.
  • Experience of working in a dynamic multi-disciplinary environment.
  • Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with cloning, protein expression and purification, enzymatic assays.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out research in biochemistry and microbiology using established and emerging empirical, experimental and statistical approaches.
  • Take initiatives in the planning and execution of research, while identifying and developing suitable techniques for the collection and analysis of data.
  • Further develop technical or transferable skills required for research by proactively seeking training opportunities from other lab members.
  • Ensure the validity and reliability of data at all times and maintain accurate and complete records of all findings.
  • Assist with data acquisition for scientific presentations, publications and grant applications.
  • Perform day-to-day communal lab duties that ensure the smooth running of the laboratory space.
