About The Position

POSITION SUMMARY: The Research Engineer serves as a key member of an interdisciplinary team focused on improving and advancing the methodologies and technologies utilized in the diagnosis and treatment of epilepsy. This role combines clinical engineering responsibilities with research and development in neurophysiological data analysis, including electroencephalogram (EEG), stereo electroencephalography (SEEG), and magnetoencephalography (MEG). The position requires a strong foundation in biomedical signal processing, software development, and clinical neurotechnology to support clinical and research leaders by enhancing patient outcomes and advancing the boundaries of neuroscience care.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Biomedical engineering, computer science
  • 2-3 years of professional experience in academic or industrial research environments.
  • 1 year experience with EEG and SEEG in a clinical setting.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and MATLAB.
  • Experience in signal processing techniques, particularly in EEG/SEEG/MEG data analysis and artifact removal.
  • Experience with software development lifecycles, including version control (e.g., Git) and collaborative coding practices (e.g., GitHub).
  • Experience with database management and processing of large-scale neurophysiology and neuroimaging datasets.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented.
  • Expertise with neurodiagnostic platforms such as Natus, Nihon Kohden and Cadwell.
  • Knowledge of software tools and frameworks commonly used in biomedical research.
