About The Position

At Cleveland Clinic Health System, we believe in a better future for healthcare. And each of us is responsible for honoring our commitment to excellence, pushing the boundaries and transforming the patient experience, every day. We all have the power to help, heal and change lives — beginning with our own. That’s the power of the Cleveland Clinic Health System team, and The Power of Every One. Job Details Join Cleveland Clinic’s Main Campus where research and surgery are advanced, technology is leading-edge, patient care is world class and caregivers are family. Here, you will work alongside a passionate and dedicated team, receive endless support and appreciation and build a rewarding career with one of the most respected healthcare organizations in the world. Dr. Marasco’s lab investigates the sensory nervous system, particularly brain organization, neuroplasticity, and sensory pathways, to understand embodiment and the sense of self. By studying patients who have undergone nerve reintegrating surgeries, the team maps missing limb sensations to the residual limb and uses this knowledge to create prosthetic devices with integrated touch feedback, enabling more natural and intuitive prosthetic use. As a Research Engineer on our team, you will analyze, investigate and plan engineering requirements to support project goals while assisting ongoing studies and non-technical lab staff. In this role, you will physically configure and troubleshoot advanced robotics for bionic prosthetic limb research, sensory-motor amplification systems for invasive intracranial epilepsy experiments, experimental hardware for human efficacy studies in the hand surgery clinic and electrophysiological setups for animal neural recording studies. In addition, you will manage project progress, track results, document outcomes and coordinate multi-lab efforts across NIH, NSF and DoD CDMRP–funded multi-institutional research initiatives.
