About The Position

As a Research Engineer - Computer Vision you will work with GE Vernova Research, GE Vernova Businesses, and external customers to define, build, and execute strategic research and development programs focused in Computer Vision and Autonomous Systems. GE Vernova's Advanced Research business is the central innovation engine for our portfolio of energy businesses, which will be unified under one banner called GE Vernova. The research organization is made up of 250+ researchers representing virtually every major scientific and engineering discipline. Collectively, they are driving major research programs and initiatives to decarbonize power, accelerate renewables, and promote electrification and the creation of a 21st century grid fit to power a zero-carbon energy future.

Requirements

  • BS + 5 years' experience or MS + 3 years' experience or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline with experience in design and development of computer vision software.
  • Strong execution track record.
  • Legal authorization to work in the US is required. We will not sponsor individuals at the Master's level for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
  • Experience in systems architecture, design, and system integration.
  • Experience programming in C/C++/Python.
  • Experience in software engineering and software architecture
  • Experience developing camera and sensor drivers
  • Experience in integrating software, into working systems.
  • Experience with robotic perception, sensor fusion, and computer vision.
  • Possess superior problem-solving skills and independent decision-making abilities, all while operating in an extremely demanding, fast-paced team setting.
  • Must be willing to take a drug test and submit to a background investigation as part of the selection process.
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Must be willing to work out of an office located in Niskayuna, NY
