About The Position

The R&D Manager will oversee the research and development efforts focused on enhancing lithium-ion battery performance, with a specific focus on chemical formulation. This role requires strong technical expertise, extensive experience in patenting and intellectual property management, and the ability to lead a high-performing R&D team. The R&D Manager will drive innovation through close collaboration with internal teams, external partners, and customers, ensuring continuous improvement and alignment with business goals.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 15 years of proven experience in lithium-ion battery R&D, with a focus on chemical formulation.
• Strong understanding of patenting processes and intellectual property management.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and manage an agile R&D team.
• Agile mindset with the ability to adapt to evolving industry demands.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to address technical challenges in both lab and field environments.

• Set clear objectives and performance expectations for the team to drive successful outcomes.
• Implement agile methodologies to enhance responsiveness to market demands and technological advancements.
• Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of R&D projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
• Manage the operations of the technical R&D center, ensuring optimal resource utilization.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align R&D efforts with business goals.
• Provide regular updates to global R&D leadership, contributing to the overall innovation strategy.
• Offer insights and recommendations to shape the future direction of GEO’s technological development.
• Build partnerships with external research institutions, industry experts, and collaborators to leverage collective expertise.
• Participate in industry conferences and forums to stay connected with the latest developments.
