Requirements

  • Requires significant adaptability as well as working in a manufacturing environment and the ability to work around machinery.
  • Must be enrolled or accepted into a 2-4-year accredited college or university or have graduated in the last 6 months.
  • Completed at a minimum the sophomore year in college, majoring in the discipline of Quality, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Chemical Engineering or similar engineering or technical degree program.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications, detailed orientated and an attitude supporting a team service environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assists Production Management with gathering and evaluating daily operating data for conformance to process parameters.
  • Makes recommendations to solve process problems.
  • Implements solutions on a self-directed basis.
  • Provides technical support and recommendations for the resolution of unsafe conditions.
  • Generates and obtains approval for process or equipment changes and Engineering Service Requests via the Change Control procedure.
  • Participates as a member of project teams for capital projects to assist in the development of project scopes, equipment design/layout, and check out/startup plans.
  • Coordinates development of Initial Operating Procedures and Operator training.
  • Recommends and investigates Lean initiatives, cost reductions, and process optimization opportunities.
  • Participates in scope, design, startup, and operating hazard reviews.
  • Coordinates plant tests to support Research & Development, Quality Assurance, Maintenance, and Engineering projects.
  • Participates in Planning and Control Team and other focus group activities to ensure continuous improvement in operational facilities.
  • Assist in Process Control Checkouts to ensure reliability of safety devices.
