About The Position

Are you driven to help researchers turn complex clinical data into meaningful insights that advance pediatric research? The Research Data Platform Specialist serves as a data concierge for researchers, enabling efficient access to and utilization of data within data resources at Children's Mercy , including Epic Cosmos, TriNetX, and other data platforms . This role bridges research teams and data systems, ensuring compliance with governance standards while delivering high-quality, actionable data for clinical and translational research. Success in this role requires strong client-facing presence and the ability to communicate effectively across disciplines. Requirements

  • Master's Degree Bioinformatics, Biostatistics, Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems Management, or related field of study and 1-2 years experience , or Bachelor's Degree Health Information Technology, Health Information Management, Bioinformatics, Biostatistics, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field of study and 3-5 years experience
  • Prior experience working as a Certified Epic Analyst or Physician Builder, meeting prerequisite requirements for Cosmos Certification , or - Other Prerequisites for Epic Cosmos Certification; confirmed at the time of hire by department leadership
  • EPIC Cosmos Administration Certification Required within 1 y ear of hire date

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with researchers to define data needs and develop strategies for accessing data to be used in research.
  • Develop communications and provide resources to be used throughout Children's Mercy to promote usage of data and associated tools for research
  • Ensure compliance with data governance, privacy standards, training requirements, and other policies related to data
  • Report progress, issues, and concerns to vendors, supervisor, project manager, and Research Informatics leadership
