About The Position

This position is for a highly skilled professional who is a self-starter and able to work independently with minimum guidance. This role will lead the build and maintenance of the Urology department’s centralized database to add to the knowledge of the scientific community to enhance research and discovery and improve patient care. They are responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of analytical and data science-based software and data pipelines to support scientific workflows. This position will be a part of the Urology department, reporting to the Research Operations Manager, but will have support from the Wilmot IT team under Eric Snyder. They will leverage the Hyperion Datawarehouse and pipelines and build a space for Urology that has data relevant to cancer and benign disease on patients seen by Urology providers. The deliverables of this position are creation of a database that pulls from multiple data sources in order to obtain and validate data on Urologic patients for the purpose of research. The data goals are project specific, but the impact of this work is that it allows the physicians and physician scientists of the Urology department to win grants, publish on their findings and conduct research to boost institutional reputation and advance patient care. Clinical data on Urologic patients is essential for not only clinical research but translational research as well. This position will support the research mission on all fronts, working closely with Urology faculty and the Vice Chair of research to accomplish project specific goals. The position primarily focuses on developing and supporting data collection frameworks that integrate structured and unstructured data from multiple sources and systems, to support specific research study teams.
