About The Position

The Research Data Associate at the Center for LGBT Health Research in the School of Public Health at the University of Pittsburgh is responsible for managing and analyzing qualitative research data. This role involves leading data collection efforts, supporting community engagement, and assisting with survey design and grant writing. The position requires a high level of proficiency in qualitative analysis software and experience in research related to sexual and gender minority health.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in sociology, anthropology, psychology, public health, health education, community health, education, educational psychology or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in research data management and analysis.
  • Experience with qualitative analysis software (e.g., Nvivo, Dedoose).
  • Experience conducting research in primary care or family medicine settings or community-based research.
  • Experience with sexual and gender minority health research, mental health research, and/or early life adversity research.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • Experience with REDCap or other survey software.
  • Publications focused on sexual and gender minority health.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day management and execution of multiple complex research projects.
  • Construct data collection instruments and craft promotional materials.
  • Troubleshoot data and manage the database.
  • Assist with screening, recruitment, and enrollment of study participants.
  • Support recruitment of sexual & gender minority adults for an interview study.
  • Independently conduct qualitative data collection.
  • Lead analysis of qualitative data and support quantitative data analysis.
  • Support development of data collection instruments.
  • Support dissemination and communication about the study and study findings.
  • Support community engagement activities.
  • Support grant writing.
