About The Position

California Public Employees' Retirement System (CalPERS) is seeking a skilled Research Data Analyst I or II to join the Human Resources Division's Workforce Data and Analytics (WDA) team as a Workforce Data Analyst. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working with data, advanced knowledge of Excel, and expertise in designing and maintaining Power BI dashboards (including Power Query). Strong communication skills, a detail-oriented mindset, and the ability to conduct both quantitative and qualitative analysis are essential for success in this role. As a Workforce Data Analyst, you will plan and conduct studies that impact HR programs, deliver data reports and presentations to senior leaders, and create innovative strategies to support CalPERS' strategic objectives and Workforce Plan.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience working with data.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel.
  • Expertise in designing and maintaining Power BI dashboards (including Power Query).

  • Ability to conduct both quantitative and qualitative analysis.

  • Proven experience in analyzing and interpreting data to draw meaningful conclusions and recommend actionable solutions.
  • Skilled in providing excellent customer service to all levels of team members, leadership, and stakeholders.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple complex projects and meet tight deadlines effectively.
