About The Position

Texas A&M’s Biology Department is looking for three Research Coordinators to join their team temporarily. This role is based in College Station, with frequent travel to remote field sites. Under general supervision, the Research Coordinators will perform semi‑skilled technical research support work that requires adapting and modifying routine procedures. These positions will support summer fieldwork, including conducting marshbird surveys and collecting habitat and vegetation data.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Three years of related experience.
  • Valid driver's license for travel to remote field sites.
  • Ability to work early mornings/late evenings as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Bird survey experience (point counts/call-playback)
  • Experience with vegetation sampling.
  • GPS navigation experience.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts point counts and marshbird surveys at assigned sites.
  • Records detections and associated metadata accurately and thoroughly.
  • Collects habitat and vegetation measurements following standardized field protocols.
  • Enters, verifies, and organizes data, including data sheets and GPS files.
