About The Position

The Research Coordinator will work with a research team on several grant-funded studies designed to evaluate neurobehavioral characteristics of criminal offenders with antisocial (e.g., psychopathic, paraphilic) traits as well as long-term outcomes (e.g., after release from incarceration) using established psychological, socio-behavioral, and/or neurobiological research procedures. Research Coordinators will be trained to assess psychopathy via clinical interviews, perform neuropsychological testing, and/or DSM-5 structured interviews. Qualified hires may also receive training in brain imaging (functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI)) data collection and analyses.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree and a minimum of 2 years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities have been attained
  • Demonstrated knowledge of psychological, socio-behavioral and/or neurobehavioral research principles, practices and protocols
  • Knowledge of the principles, methods, and procedures of basic medical and/or clinical research
  • Ability to understand and follow basic scientific research protocols and procedures
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as a part of a team
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to learn department-specific computer systems as needed
  • High degree of professionalism
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Demonstrated ability in managing a wide variety of tasks simultaneously while meeting multiple deadlines
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to pass a background check

Responsibilities

  • Recruiting and scheduling participants
  • Conducting clinical assessments
  • Analyzing data to assure data integrity, quality control and protocol compliance
  • Training staff and volunteers
  • Supervising student volunteers and other staff
  • Using statistical software to analyze data quantitatively and qualitatively, and assist in the preparation of conference presentations, manuscripts, and grant proposals
