About The Position

The Center for Health Outcomes Research and Dissemination (CHORD) within the Department of Urology at the University of Washington (UW) is seeking a Research Coordinator. This position involves coordinating components of several clinical research projects aimed at improving the health and well-being of patients with urologic problems. The role will initially support research studies led by Dr. Sarah Psutka, focusing on personalized risk stratification measures in patients with advanced urologic malignancies. Responsibilities include managing human subjects research, conducting physical assessments, collecting biospecimens, and ensuring compliance with study protocols. The position requires a collaborative approach, effective communication, and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously. The role includes 50-80% onsite activities, with the option for telework when not needed onsite.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of one year of relevant experience.
  • Willingness to work collaboratively and in accordance with the CHORD Team Agreements.
  • Ability to interact respectfully and empathetically with diverse backgrounds.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office products.

Nice To Haves

  • Currently holds or willing to obtain a phlebotomy certification.
  • Experience with clinical data entry into or abstraction from electronic health records.
  • Previous experience in clinical research.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, approach, and recruit participants for research studies.
  • Support research participants in completing study activities per study protocols.
  • Perform physical assessments and collect biospecimens from research participants.
  • Conduct participant surveys and manage participant retention activities.
  • Ensure compliance with study protocols and maintain accurate records.
  • Support regulatory coordination for research projects, including submitting study applications and modifications.
  • Organize electronic and paper regulatory files and coordinate meetings among study team members.
  • Abstract data from electronic health records and manage data in various study platforms.
